Slow Ways is an initiative to create a national network of walking routes connecting all of Great Britain’s towns and cities as well as thousands of villages. It’s a not-for-profit company that is making it easier for people to imagine, plan and go on walking journeys. They say:
Walking can improve health and wellbeing, help tackle climate and ecological emergencies, save people money, improve our environment, create memories and bring joy to people's lives.
In May 2022, the BBC’s Countryfile featured a Slow Ways walk from Warwick to Leamington Spa. Watch how they got on during their walk, on the Slow Ways page.
There are also tons of other Warwickshire slow ways featured on their searchable website, so if you are looking for a new way to get to work, to the shops, to visit friends or just stretch your legs, see if you can find a slow way to get there.
