Take a visit to the Children's Forest at Leasowe Farm and do your bit to help the trees grow!
Come down and help to tend the trees at the Children's Forest; there are trees hidden amongst all the chicory and grasses - you can see how they're getting on and you may spot some wildlife too!
Bring yourselves, your friends and your family! If you have a watering can or gloves this would be helpful but isn't essential.
Tending the trees - mulching, weeding and watering are all much needed. Mulch gives the trees the best chance of growing well without competing for nutrients with other plants. It also helps to keep the moisture in. And now the grass is growing very high - there will also be some weeding around the trees.
Equally as important is seeing the trees grow, watch the insects and animals living there, play in the grass and enjoy seeing this young woodland thrive.
Details - Arrive anytime in the afternoon between 2pm and 4pm. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you know you will be attending, so that they can plan for numbers. Please park along the track at Canalside Community Farm as before and find your way down to the Children's Forest field.
