Stratford on Avon District People Climate Assembly
A council-facilitated, community-led climate change local engagement event concluding Great Big Green Week (GBGW) 2024.
National GBGW runs from Saturday 8 June to Sunday 16 June 2024.
There will be a launch event on Saturday 8 June led by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in New Place gardens.
This launch event will introduce the week and aims to be celebratory and have a festival feel.
There will also be climate-focused events on Saturday 6 July at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).
The event will mark five years since Stratford District Council (SDC) declared a climate emergency.
It will showcase progress and plans, as well as best practice in the district, and looks forward to further action involving everyone.
Main aims:
- Promote community engagement with action for climate and nature across the district, including schools
- Provide a springboard for more action
- Showcase local best practice
