Future Skills Programme

A new £900,000, three-year Future Skills Programme has been launched by Warwickshire County Council.

It aims to boost apprenticeships in industry with a future focus, supporting new and emerging technologies.

The programme offers support packages for businesses looking to create a skills pipeline into future jobs with the help of a dedicated Future Skills Advisor, Louise Stolz.

The project will see industry specific employer round tables set up, to enable industry to communicate with the college and provider network, ensuring the local skills offer will meet the needs of the county’s future skills requirements.

To support this activity, we aim to shape and deliver a skills share pilot which will enable our colleges to access industry specialists, as we know they face challenges in recruiting teaching staff with the experience that industry requires. This pilot will demonstrate the importance employers have to play in our classrooms and the value it can add in shaping our future workforce.

The fund will also create five Future Apprenticeship fairs aimed to support our communities in accessing these apprenticeship opportunities as businesses move towards net zero carbon targets.

If you’d like to get involved or you would like further information, please contact Louise Stolz at louisestolz@warwickshire.gov.uk.
